Genetic diversity and differentiation in south-western Australian bloodwoods (

چکیده

An understanding of how variation is shared within and among closely related species important for evolutionary processes managing biological diversity. We studied genetic structure in the three occurring south-western Australia that form small distinct monophyletic section Calophyllae genus Corymbia. compared diversity nuclear microsatellites chloroplast DNA sequences two with patchy distributions, namely, Corymbia haematoxylon (Maiden) K.D. Hill & L.A.S. Johnson ficifolia (F. Muell.) Johnson, widespread congener, C. calophylla (Lindl.) Johnson. Consistent predictions influence range abundance on Australian flora, population differentiation was higher restricted than widespread, semicontinuous calophylla. Genetic similar to calophylla, but lower highly localised ficifolia, likely owing bottlenecks. All were distinguished by SSR variation, each haplotypes from incomplete lineage sorting ancestral introgression. Limited evidence recent hybridisation populations also present.

phylogeography and genetic diversity of the lesser mouse- eared bat (myotis blythii) in iran

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...

Genetic diversity of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Mbarara, South Western Uganda.

BACKGROUND We determined the genetic diversity of mycobacteria isolated from tuberculosis patients in Mbarara Uganda, using region of difference (RD) analysis and spacer oligonucleotide typing (spoligotyping). METHODS Sputum samples were cultured on Lowenstein Jensen media. The isolates were characterized using RD analysis and spoligotyping. RESULTS The majority (92.8%) of the patients were...

Genetic population structure and differentiation of Western Iranian Oxynoemacheilus argyrogramma (Heckel, 1847) using SSR markers

This study was carried out to investigate the genetic diversity and population structure of 90 specimens of Oxynoemacheilus argyrogramma collected from Sepidbarg, Gamasiab and Ghaleji rivers, in the west of Iran. Analyses using three microsatellite loci indicated that the average number of alleles in the population was 12, which was well above the reported values for freshwater fishes. The expe...

Classifying rainfall districts: a south Western Australian study

The largest State in Australia, Western Australia, covers an area of approximately 2.5 million square kilometres, extending from latitude 14oS to 35oS and from longitude 113oE to 129oE. The climate of Western Australia is influenced by its large size and latitudinal position. In the north of the State the climate is tropical and dominated by the Australian Monsoon, the south predominantly Medit...

Genetic diversity of Plasmodium falciparum field isolates from south western Nigeria.

BACKGROUND Plasmodium falciparum the main causative agent of malaria is an important public health vector. With the use of PCR, its genetic diversity has been extensively studied with dearth information from Nigeria. METHODS In this study, 100 P. falciparum strains merozoite surface protein 1(msp-1), merozoite surface protein 2 (msp-2) and Glutamate rich protein (Glurp) from Ogun State Genera...
